💡 San Jose Pro Tip: San Jose's best cheap eats cluster by neighborhood. Downtown has La Vic's and San Pedro Square Market within walking distance. The Story Road / McKee "Little Saigon" corridor in East SJ is banh mi heaven — Duc Huong, 111 Bakery, Huong Lan — plus Tai Pan dim sum and El Águila pupusas nearby. Japantown has Gombei. Many of these are cash-only, so bring some. And the Falafel's Drive-In banana shake is non-negotiable.
