This privacy policy describes how 2for20deals.com ("we," "us," or "our") handles information when you visit our website. We keep this simple because we collect very little.

What We Collect

We collect information only when you actively send it to us through one of the forms on this site:

• Add a Deal — restaurant name, deal description, location, expiry date, tags, and an optional website URL. No email or contact information is requested.
• 🚩 Flag a deal — flagging a deal as expired or incorrect sends us a report containing only that deal's details (restaurant, deal, and location) so we can re-check it.
• Suggest a City — the city you'd like added, optional notes about local deals, and your email address (required), which we use only to let you know when that city goes live.
• Feedback widget — your message, the page you were on, and your email address only if you choose to include one (so we can reply).
• Deal alert signup — on some pages you can leave your email address to get a short note when that page's deals are updated. You can unsubscribe at any time.
• Restaurant website inquiry — restaurant owners requesting our website-building service send us their restaurant name, their name and email address, city, and optionally a phone number, current website link, and notes. We use this only to reply about the service.

Outside of these forms, we do not collect your name, email, or other personally identifiable information through normal browsing of the site.

How We Use Submissions

Deal submissions, flags, city suggestions, feedback, and restaurant website inquiries are received via Formspree (formspree.io) and reviewed by our team. Deal alert signups are processed by Netlify Forms. We use what you send us solely for the purpose stated on each form — evaluating deals for the directory, re-checking flagged deals, notifying you about a requested city, replying to feedback or website inquiries, or sending deal-update notes. We do not sell or share this data, and we never use your email or phone number for unrelated marketing.

Third-Party Services

We use a small number of third-party services that may process data independently:

• Formspree — processes form submissions. See their privacy policy.
• Google Analytics 4 — collects anonymized usage data with IP anonymization enabled. See Google's privacy policy and the Analytics section below.
• Google Fonts — serves web fonts. Google may log the request. See Google's privacy policy.
• Google Maps — map links open in a new tab on Google's platform. Their privacy policy applies there.
• Netlify — hosts this website, processes deal alert email signups (Netlify Forms), and may log standard server access data (IP address, browser type, pages visited). See Netlify's privacy policy.

Cookies

This site uses a small number of cookies placed by Google Analytics, a third-party service we use to understand how visitors use the site. Whether they're set by default depends on where you are:

• In the European Economic Area, the UK, Switzerland, and Canada, analytics cookies are off until you choose "Accept" on our cookie banner. Until then (or if you choose "Decline"), Google Analytics runs in cookieless consent mode and no analytics cookies are stored on your device.
• Everywhere else, including the United States, analytics cookies are on by default, and choosing "Decline" on the banner turns them off. Your choice is remembered and can be changed at any time (see below).

The cookies are:

• _ga — distinguishes unique users. Expires after 2 years.
• _ga_XHYD7KKXD8 — maintains session state. Expires after 2 years.

These cookies do not contain personally identifiable information. IP addresses are anonymized before being sent to Google. No advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or retargeting cookies are used on this site — our sponsor placements are plain links with no ad-network code (see the Sponsors section below).

We also use localStorage (browser storage, not a cookie) to keep your ⭐ saved deals, your flag history, and your cookie choice locally on your device. Your saved and flagged lists themselves never leave your browser. When analytics is on for you (see above), tapping ⭐ Save also sends an anonymous Google Analytics event with just the deal's restaurant name and city — so we can see which deals are most popular, but not who saved them.

The other exception worth spelling out: when you tap 🚩 Flag on a deal, a report is sent to us via Formspree so we can re-check the deal. That report contains only information about the deal itself — the restaurant's name, the deal text, its location, and an anonymous count of how many times your device has flagged it. It includes no name, email, account, or other information about you. As with any web request, Formspree processes standard technical metadata (such as IP address) under their privacy policy; we only see the deal report.

You can also opt out of Google Analytics tracking using Google's opt-out browser add-on, or by adjusting your browser's cookie settings.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to collect anonymized data about how visitors interact with this site. This includes:

• Pages visited and time spent on each page
• How you arrived at the site (search engine, direct link, referral, etc.)
• General geographic region (country/city level — not your precise location)
• Device type and browser
• Which city tabs and features are used most
• Which deals are saved — when you hit ⭐ Save, we record an anonymous event with the deal's restaurant name and city so we can see which deals are most popular. The event is not linked to you, and your saved list itself stays on your device.
• Which sponsor links are clicked — just the sponsor's domain and the page you were on, so we can tell sponsors how their placement is doing in aggregate.

This data is collected in aggregate and is not linked to any personally identifiable information. We have enabled IP anonymization, which means your full IP address is never stored or sent to Google.

Google Analytics data is processed by Google LLC and may be stored on servers in the United States. For more information, see Google's Privacy Policy and Google Analytics data practices.

To opt out of Google Analytics across all websites, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Sponsors

A couple of pages carry a clearly labeled "Sponsor" spot. These are plain links we write and host ourselves — no ad network is involved, no sponsor code runs on this site, and sponsors set no cookies and receive no information about you from us. If you click a sponsor link, you leave for their website, where their own privacy policy applies. We count sponsor link clicks anonymously through Google Analytics (the sponsor's domain and the page, never who clicked), and this only happens when analytics is on for you (see the Cookies section).

Location ("Near Me")

The 📍 Near Me button in the Cities menu can jump you to the deals page for the city closest to you. Here's how that works:

• Nothing happens until you tap the button — and then your browser asks for permission before sharing your location.
• Your coordinates are compared against a built-in list of our city pages entirely within your browser. They are never sent to us, stored, or shared with any third party.
• The only result is that you're taken to the nearest city's page. If that city is more than 25 miles away, the page address includes the approximate distance in miles (e.g. ?near=40) so we can show you a heads-up — that rough number, not your location, is all that could appear in standard analytics or server logs.
• If you decline the permission prompt, the feature simply doesn't run — you can use the city search instead.

Children's Privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Your Rights

Normal browsing of the site leaves us no personal data to access, correct, or delete. If you gave us your email or phone number through the Suggest a City form, the feedback widget, a deal alert signup, or a restaurant website inquiry, you can ask us to delete it at any time — email hungry@2for20deals.com, reply to any email we've sent you, or send a note through the feedback widget. Deal alert emails can be unsubscribed with one reply. If you submitted a deal and would like it removed from consideration, contact us the same way.

Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to how we collect or use data, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes such as adding advertising will be noted prominently.
