Wade’s Restaurant
James Beard Winner — Two Meat & 2 Plates, $19.98
The 2024 James Beard America’s Classics winner has been Spartanburg’s family table since 1947, and the flagship math still clears our cap: the “2 Legs” fried-chicken Meat & 2 plate is $9.99 with a yeast roll or cornbread muffin included, so two people eat the most famous meal in town for $19.98. The menu changes daily — seven to ten meats, fifteen-plus scratch sides — and a 4-veggie plate runs the same $9.99. One warning worth repeating: closed Saturday.
Downtown Pizza
2 Slices + a Soda, $10 a Person — Every Day
The promise is printed right on their homepage: “Two slices and a soda for ten bucks. Open 11–9, every day.” Two people land at $20.00 exactly, drinks included, with no day-of-week fine print. The thin, crispy, well-done pies opened across from the courthouse in 2025 and promptly took the top Yelp pizza spot in town. Four blocks from Fifth Third Park, it’s the pre-game meal before a Spartanburgers game — the ballpark story is its own post →
Bronco Mexican Restaurant
Lunch Combos $6.99 — Two Eat for $13.98
The best-value math in Spartanburg lives on the Union Street menu: the Speedy Gonzalez lunch (enchilada, taco, and rice or beans) is $6.99, so two people eat for $13.98 — and every lunch combo #1 through #10 stays between $6.99 and $8.10. Even at dinner the “Mas Las Populares” combos run a flat $9.10, keeping a pair at $18.20. Prices are for the Union Street location — the E Main Street store sets its own menu.
Holmes Hotdogs
Two-Dog Plate $9.29 — Two People, $18.58
A milltown institution since 1953, still making the chili and slaw from the founding family’s recipes. The Two Hot Dog Plate — two chili dogs, fries and slaw — is $9.29, printed right on their homepage, so a pair of you eats for $18.58. Founder Walt Holmes was a WWII vet; current owner Kyle “Cowboy” Childers apprenticed two years under the retiring family before buying the place. Plan it as lunch — they close at 4.
Andrew’s Atomic Dogs
Dogs $2.50–$3.00 — Two Eat for About $13
Founder Andrew Morrow Jr. walked away from automotive engineering to open the “Home of the Unchained Dog,” and the menu reads like he never hired a consultant: the Atomic Dog is $3.00 and the House Dog $2.50. Two dogs each plus shared sides lands a couple around $12–15. Pick your chili — house or spicy — and mind the clock: weekdays it’s lunch only, and Sunday it’s closed.
Little Pigs BBQ
BBQ Sandwiches $5.99 — Two + a Side Under $16
The Huffling family’s third location (after Boiling Springs and Lyman) — and they own the building, which helps explain how the pork stays this cheap. Sam’s Regular BBQ Sandwich runs $5.99 and the Chop Chicken Sandwich $6.49, so two sandwiches and a shared side stay under $16. It’s also the takeout half of our favorite cheap date: sandwiches to go, then the waterfalls and mill ruins at Glendale Shoals.
Venus Pie Pizzeria
16″ Cheese Pie $17 — Feeds Two, Arcade Included
Downtown’s NY-style institution since 1995 — scratch dough, scratch sauce, and an arcade room in the back. A medium 16-inch cheese pie is $17.00 and its eight slices comfortably feed two; or run the counter math instead: two Big Cheese slices at $6.25 each plus two fountain drinks at $2.75 comes to exactly $18.00. Closed Sunday, so make it a Friday night with a pocket of quarters.

Wade’s To Go on the Westside — Meat & 2 Plates
The James Beard winner’s to-go-first outpost on Reidville Road runs the same meat-and-two structure as the flagship — daily rotating meats, Southern sides, bread included — at flagship-level prices, so figure about $10 a plate and two eating for right around $20. Same rhythm as the mothership, too: weekdays and Sunday lunch, closed Saturday. Westsiders skip the Pine Street drive.
Willy Taco (Hub City)
À la Carte Tacos From $3.90 — Skip the Combos
The fun one, with honest fine print: order à la carte or the math breaks. Value-tier tacos run $3.90 to the low sixes on their own Toast menu, so two people getting two tacos each land around $16 — no sides, no drinks, and that’s the play, because the $14-a-head combos blow straight past the cap. Worth it for the room and the salsa; just keep the order sheet disciplined.
💡 Pro tip: All deals are community-verified but prices and availability change. Always check the restaurant's website or app before making a special trip — and if something's expired, flag it on our main directory so we can update it.
These chain deals work anywhere in the country, including Spartanburg. Honorable mention while you’re here: Cook-Out’s trays run about $8 with a drink — the cheapest chain-burger math in town.
Buffalo Wild Wings
Pick 6 — Meal for Two from $19.99
The Pick 6 lets two people build a shared meal — choose six items across wings, tenders, and sides — starting around $19.99. A reliable two-for-$20 play at any BWW. Dine-in or takeout; pricing varies slightly by market.
