A small, authentic North Division taquería locals adore — out-of-this-world quesabirria tacos, al pastor, carne asada fries and the chavindeca (a griddled double-corn quesadilla), with a great salsa lineup. Six tacos run about $20 and the arroz con pollo comes on a pizza-size platter to share, so two eat very well for around $18. Open daily.

A North Monroe fast-Mexican favorite that's better than its "fast food" label suggests — fresh-to-order carne asada mini tacos, huge breakfast burritos, and a wet burrito that two regulars happily split. An E Sprague spot doing fresh, flavor-packed Vietnamese and Chinese in generous portions — pho, savory vermicelli bowls loaded with veggies, and to-go banh mi (veggies packed on the side so they stay crisp). A Spokane institution and the place to eat on a budget — small classic burgers, the bigger Whammy, fish sandwiches, corn dogs, fries and shakes, all dirt cheap and fast. D. Lish's Burgers
Char Burgers — Triple ~$5.50
A North Division burger joint (newly remodeled) with an actual char on fresh patties and crispy ends, thin SoCal fries with fry sauce, and a huckleberry shake worth the trip. The menu is even cheaper than legend has it — a triple D3L runs about $5.50 and a plain hamburger ~$3 — so two eat for well under $20 even with shakes. Simple menu, straightforward service, open late. Open daily.

Late-Night Downtown Diner
A downtown Spokane dive-diner open till 2am with chill vibes, big portions and famously soft biscuits and gravy — plus beer-battered fries with homemade ranch and a long list of breakfast classics served any hour. An East Trent Vietnamese staple. Its own menu prices banh mi at $6.99 and grilled-pork rice plates at $11.99, so two sandwiches run $13.98 or a sandwich plus a rice plate is $18.98. Owner-priced.

MOD fast-fires an 11-inch build-your-own pizza in about three minutes, and the model is one price however many of the 40-plus toppings go on it — the chain's own words are "the price always stays the same." The 11-inch MOD-size with unlimited toppings reads $14.19 at the 2503 W Wellesley Ave store on MOD's own ordering system, August 2026 — $7.10 a head when two people split it, which is the cheapest honest way through the door. MOD sizes a salad it labels "Mega (Feeds 2)" outright at $15.44, so one order is dinner for both of you without touching the pizza menu. Want your own pie each? Two 6-inch minis with cheese run $14.38. Worth knowing before you go: your first purchase as a MOD Rewards member earns a free MOD-size pizza or salad, which makes round one genuinely two for the price of one. The trap is drinks — two 16 oz fountains add $6.78 and put the loaded 11-inch at $20.97, past the line, so drink water or drop to the $10.99 cheese build. MOD prices by store, so confirm at yours — the spread across the cities we checked runs $11.89 to $16.59 for the same pizza.
