Red Arrow Diner
Iconic 24-Hour Diner Since 1922
About ten booths, open since 1922, and a Manchester rite of passage. Breakfast is served all day, the coffee never stops, and every four years it turns into the most photographed diner in America as presidential candidates squeeze in for eggs and a photo op. Cheap, cheerful and pure New Hampshire. Two eat for around $18.
Puritan Backroom
Famous Chicken Tenders & Duck Sauce
Ask anyone in New Hampshire where the chicken tender comes from and they'll point you here. The Puritan Backroom's lightly breaded, slightly sweet tenders — paired with a signature duck sauce that's somehow sweet and savory at once — are the stuff of statewide legend. Generous portions and a fair price; split an order of tenders with fries. Two eat for around $18.
Consuelo's Taqueria
Authentic Mexican Street Food
Chef Martin Delgadillo grew up one of a dozen kids in Mexico City and named this whimsically decorated taqueria after his mother, Consuelo. NHPR called it some of the best meat tacos in the state — and the burritos, quesadillas and agua de Jamaica back that up. Cheap, authentic and a local treasure. Two eat for around $16.
Mr. Mac's
Macaroni & Cheese Specialist
An entire restaurant built around made-to-order mac and cheese, from the classic to inventive specials like shepherd's-pie mac. Their own menu prices small bowls at $9.99, so two small classics land at $19.98 — right on the $20 line before tax. Keep it to two smalls; a medium ($17.99) or added drinks push you over.
KC's Rib Shack
Barbecue & Ribs
A friendly Second Street smokehouse where the ribs come tender and the sides come heaping. Straight talk from their own menu: the BBQ plates run past $20 for two — a pulled-pork sandwich is $17, a third-rack $22. The two-under-$20 play is to share the chicken-tenders basket ($14) with a $4 side, or split one sandwich. Two eat for about $18 that way.
900 Degrees Neapolitan Pizzeria
Wood-Fired Pizza
Proper wood-fired Neapolitan pies — blistered crust, simple toppings, out of the oven in minutes. A 10-inch Margherita is $12.95 on their own menu, so two split one pie for well under $20. Order two separate dishes (pizza plus a salad runs about $24) and you'll clear the line, so share the pie.
Airport Diner (The Common Man Family)
NH Diner Classic — Two Breakfasts ~$15
A retro, chrome-and-vinyl 50s-style diner near the airport, part of the Common Man family — look for "Airport Diner," not "Common Man," which is why it can be hard to find. Their own January 2026 menu keeps it cheap: two Short Cut egg breakfasts run $14.98, two Doo-Wops (eggs, meat, toast) $18.98, or two grilled cheese $15.98 — a short stack of pancakes works too. All under $20 before tax; coffee's $2.99 if you want it.
El Rincón Zacatecano Taquería
Zacatecas-Style Tamales & Tacos
A family taquería doing Zacatecas-style Mexican — tamales, birria and tortas. Their own menu prices tamales (chicken, pork or cheese) at $6.25, so two run $12.50; an $8 quesadilla or a $12 Burrito Especial split works too, plus a $4.50 horchata. Two eat for around $16 — a different flavor from Consuelo's.
MIU Café
Vietnamese Bánh Mì & Boba
A Vietnamese café in the Mall of New Hampshire for bánh mì, pho and boba. Their own site prices bánh mì at $6.99–7.99, so two sandwiches land around $14–16; egg rolls are $5.99 and milk teas $4.99. Two eat for well under $20.
Alley Cat Pizzeria
NY-Style Pizza & Subs — Split for Under $20
A downtown NY-style pizzeria for hand-tossed pies, calzones and subs. Their own menu starts 12-inch specialty pizzas at $13.49 and 12-inch subs at $11.99 — split either and two eat for under $20. There's also a $9.99 large cheese pizza special Monday & Tuesday after 5pm.
💡 Pro tip: All deals are community-verified, and we've linked each spot's official menu where one exists. At the Puritan Backroom and KC's Rib Shack, the two-under-$20 move is to split an order of tenders or a basket with a side; at 900 Degrees, share one Neapolitan pie.
