A Stillwater institution since 1975 and home of the world-famous cheese fries. Started as a bar by two OSU grads, it grew into a sprawling restaurant of burgers, chili, and hand-dipped shakes at reasonable prices. The Original Hideaway
Pizza for Two
This is where Hideaway Pizza began, opened in 1957 just off the OSU campus and now the first of a 20-plus-location legend across three states. The famous fried mushrooms are a Stillwater staple, and the made-to-order pies are the draw. Two people split a pie, or share the mushrooms and a few slices, for around $20.
Coney Island
Coneys for Two
An OSU tradition on The Strip since 1969, slinging chili-cheese coneys on Nathan's all-beef dogs (around $5), the fried-onion chili cheeseburger, tots, and wings. It is the late-night spot two blocks from the stadium. Two people split a few coneys and sides for well under $20. Open late Thursday through Saturday; closed Sunday.

Chinese & Boba for Two
A cheap, friendly Chinese spot near campus since 2009, with fried rice, stir-fried noodles, dozens of entrees, and build-your-own bubble tea. Locals call it a steal — heaping plates run about $8 to $11, so two people eat well, boba included, for around $20.
Bao House
Dumplings to Share — Under $20
A newer local favorite doing authentic Sichuan and handmade soup dumplings (xiao long bao), thumb-sized pan-fried buns, and chili-oil dumplings. The menu is built for sharing, so two people split a few orders of dumplings and a noodle dish for around $20.

An Oklahoma burger joint just east of campus building angus, bison, and turkey burgers with fresh-cut fries, ordered at the counter. A burger and fries each runs right around $20, and the daily Rad Hour (3–6pm) trims drink prices if you stay for a beer.

A downtown Japanese spot for ramen, sushi, and hibachi, open seven days and a local go-to for noodles. At lunch, two people share a couple of sushi rolls and a bowl of ramen for around $20 — lunch is the value play, since dinner bowls add up fast.
Eating cheap in Stillwater: the icons are the value here — Eskimo Joe's cheese fries split two ways, a shared Original Hideaway pie, or a couple of Coney dogs each. The campus-side Asian spots (Cafe 88, Bao House, Thai Loco) are cheapest at lunch and made for sharing, and the taco trucks clear the cap on tacos alone. A few places are lunch-only, drive-thru, or closed Sunday, and The Strip kitchens run late on weekends — so check hours before you head out.

Sonic Drive-In
2 Combo Meals — about $16 for two
Stillwater is the birthplace of the Sonic name — the original location on N Main switched from Top Hat to Sonic in 1959. Combo meals run about $8 to $10 each, so two eat for roughly $16 to $18, with a $1.99 value menu and half-price drinks from 2 to 4 PM.
