🏝️ Local Margate Meal Deals
Bagel Time & Bakery Cafe
Breakfast for Two — about $15.56 All-In
The last of Margate's old strip-center deli counters — and its keepers since 2024 are a Brazilian couple, Luciana Oliveira and Gilberto Nunes; Luciana grew up in her family's restaurants in Brazil. The best-selling bacon-egg-and-cheese on a bagel is $7.27 on their own ordering menu, so two run $14.54 — about $15.56 with tax. Knishes, whitefish salad, matzoh brie and NY egg creams are all still on the board. Verified on the owner's online ordering, July 2026.
Sultane Cuisine and Bakery
Fried-Chicken Special + Oven Patties — $16.99
Haitian and Jamaican under one roof from Margate resident Shirley Mars, who opened in March 2026 in Ace Plaza — a strip owned by the city's own redevelopment agency. The daily fried-chicken-and-rice special is $12.99 and house-baked oven patties are $2 each, so a special plus four patties feeds two for $16.99 ($18.18 with tax). Griot goes for $12.99 as a daily special; pate kode with egg is $5.99. Verified on the owner's own ordering site, July 2026.
Cafe Sol
Breakfast + Bagel Split — about $18.19
The newest counter in town — ribbon-cut June 19, 2026, in the old East Coffee Crepes space across from city hall — from co-owner Luis Guerra, a 34-year Margate resident who coached youth baseball here. The Classic Breakfast is $12 and a bagel with spread is $5, so two eat for $17 pretax. Watch the math: two $10 sandwiches hit $20.00 exactly — on the line pre-tax, over it once tax lands. The $6 toasted-marshmallow-foam coffee is the signature splurge. Prices from the owner's menu, July 2026.
Toasted Cafe
Two Breakfast Specials — $15.90
The 7-to-11am specials board does the work: #1 — two eggs any style with home fries or grits — is $7.95, so two people eat for $15.90, about $17 with tax. Pancake-and-egg combos run $8.75–$11.95. It's genuinely Margate, whatever the map labels say about this stretch of Atlantic Blvd. Keep it food-only to stay under, and note the 3% card fee on online orders. Verified on the owner's Toast ordering, July 2026.
The Gem Eatery
Two Egg Breakfasts — $17.50
Mom-and-pop breakfast room on the SR-7 corridor with portions reviewers call oversized — the German pancake is a table event. Two eggs any style is $8.75, so a pair lands at $17.50 ($18.73 with tax), or swap one for the $8.99 breakfast wrap. The $13.50-and-up specialty plates blow the cap — stay on the cheap side of the menu and leave full anyway. Prices from the owner's own site, July 2026.
Chifa Taypa
Quart of Chaufa Feeds Two — $16.90
The only chifa — Chinese-Peruvian — kitchen on Margate's 441 corridor, with a Peruvian chaufa menu on one side and American-Chinese takeout on the other. A quart of arroz chaufa con pollo is $13.95 and genuinely feeds two; add an egg roll and it's $16.90 ($18.08 with tax). Two egg rolls pushes $19.85 pretax and busts once tax counts. Visa and Mastercard only; closed Tuesdays. Verified on the owner menu, July 2026.
Ricuras Latinas
Colombian Street Food — Two for about $15.42
Colombian fast food that keeps bar hours — open to 2am Fridays and Saturdays, karaoke included. The loaded perro caliente is $11.54 and empanadas are $1.94, so a dog plus two empanadas feeds two for $15.42 ($16.50 with tax) — or go double chicharron con arepa at $7.34 each. Heads up: the old ricuraslatinasmargate.com domain is dead; the live owner site is ricuraslatinasfl.com. Prices from the owner's own ordering, July 2026.
Los Perros del Sobrino
Perro + Salchipapa Split — $18.49
Founded in 2019 by a Colombian family recreating the ritual of going out for perros, with 50-plus items named after relatives — the signature Del Sobrino comes loaded with coleslaw, ham, bacon, crushed chips, pineapple and a quail egg. The honest pair: Perro del Tio $10.50 plus a $7.99 salchipapa to split — $18.49, and $19.78 out the door. Two perros break $21. It sits inside Margate city limits even though the mailing zip reads Coral Springs. Owner menu, July 2026.
La Union Bakery II
Six Tacos for Two — $16.50
Second outpost of the family-run Coral Springs bakery, on the Margate side of a street that flips cities mid-block. The taco counter is the play: three Mexican tacos are $8.25, so two orders land at $16.50 ($17.66 with tax) — or six quesabirria tacos at $2.99 apiece for $17.94. Pan dulce comes from the in-store case (not priced online), and the doors open around 6am. Verified on the owner's own ordering, July 2026.
Birria Bacana
Split the Birria Taco Order — $18
Armando Gonzalez's birria specialist went brick-and-mortar in Atlantic Plaza with a January 2026 grand opening — slow-braised birria plus fusion swings like birria ramen and a Korean 'Choi' taco. The under-$20 play is one order: four birria tacos with consome, $18.00 flat ($19.26 with tax), two tacos each — call it a generous snack or a light dinner, honestly split. Add anything and you're over. Prices from the owner's Toast menu, July 2026.
Martha Brae (formerly Donna's Caribbean)
A-la-Carte Jamaican for Two — $17.94
The 25-year-old Donna's Caribbean chain is rebranding its South Florida stores as Martha Brae, and the Margate store runs 8am to 11pm daily. Plates don't fit — jerk chicken alone was $13.80 at last read — but the a-la-carte board does: fried chicken legs and wings are $1.99 apiece and small rice and peas $4.99, so four pieces plus two rices is $17.94 ($19.20 with tax). Worth a call to confirm counter prices match the chain menu. From the chain's own menu, July 2026.
Pearl of the Island
Pate Kode Night for Two — $16.58 (Tue/Fri/Sat)
Haitian kitchen with themed street-food nights, and the pate kode window is the card: Tuesdays and Fridays from 11am and Saturdays from 2pm, fried Haitian patties stuffed with egg and pikliz run $8.29 (chicken) to $10.39 (shrimp or beef). Two chicken pate kode cost $16.58 — $17.74 with tax. It's a light meal, priced like one. The regular menu never fits: the cheapest plate is $19.99. Verified on the owner's own ordering site, July 2026.
Annie's Pizza Subs & Wings
Slice-and-Soda Deals from $6
NY-style counter on the SR-7 strip where the combo board does the math for you: one slice and a soda is $6.00, two slices and a soda $10.00. A pair of one-slice combos feeds two light for $12 ($12.84 with tax); a three-slice split lands near $17. Don't confuse it with Anne Marie's diagonally across the road — different family, different pizza, both real. Verified on the owner's online ordering, July 2026.
Anne Marie's Pizza Co
Two '2 Slices & Soda' Specials — $17.90
Slinging since 1988, closed Mondays for a 'deep clean,' and cutting slices off a 24-inch pie. The homepage special — 2 slices and a soda for $8.95 — makes the two-person build $17.90 ($19.15 with tax), and with slices this size that's a real dinner. Tuesday–Friday 3–6pm happy hour takes 50% off beer and wine. Verified on the owner's site and its own ordering, July 2026.
Mannino's Pizzeria
Weekday Lunch: Two Eat for $17.50
Neighborhood pizzeria on the Margate stretch of Coconut Creek Parkway — the road name lies, the parcel doesn't. The Mon–Fri 11–3 lunch board is the value: two slices and a can of soda for $8.75, so two people lunch for $17.50 ($18.73 with tax) — or grab a plain cheese pie from $12.30 plus two cans for $16.30 any time. Verified on the owner's own ordering site, July 2026.
J.R. Pizza Bella
16-Inch Pie Split Two Ways — $16.95
Family-owned since 2011 and quietly two restaurants in one: a NY-style pizzeria and a Puerto Rican kitchen (mofongo, alcapurrias) sharing a menu. Regular slices are a throwback $2.75, and a 16-inch cheese pie is $16.95 — $18.14 with tax, split two ways. The address prints a Coral Springs zip, but the county parcel is Margate. Prices from the owner menu, July 2026.
Spanky's Cheesesteak Factory
Burger + Dog Build — $17.90
The yellow-roofed standalone at 441 — and the cheesesteak that made its name is now $16.95, so a pair is $33.90, dead. The route that survives: the Plain Jane burger $10.95 plus The Dog $6.95 is $17.90 ($19.15 with tax). Tuesday's build-your-own-burger night is $10 flat — two burgers hit $20.00 on the nose — on the line pre-tax, a splurge once tax lands. Cheesesteaking since 1995. Verified on the owner's Clover ordering, July 2026.
It's All Greek To Me Grill
Two Gyro Pitas — $17.90
Family-run Greek counter — 30-plus years of Florida restaurant lineage — in the west Sample Rd pocket that's Margate despite the 33073 zip. Gyro, chicken and falafel pitas are all $8.95: two for $17.90, $19.15 with tax. The kicker: Mon–Thu 3–6pm the second pita is half off, dropping the pair to $13.43 with room for $4.95 Greek fries. Verified on the owner site and Toast ordering, July 2026.
Jesse's Xtreme Sports Bar
Mon Burgers $8.99 · Tue Tacos $2–3
A sports bar, not a date spot — karaoke, pool tables, doors open to 2am (4am Thu–Sat). Go on deal nights, which the bar prices on its own site: Monday burger night is $8.99 at dinner ($7.99 at lunch) with $4 domestic drafts, so two burgers run $17.98 — and Taco Tuesday brings $2–3 tacos with $5 margaritas. Other nights the menu isn't priced online, so stick to the calendar. Owner specials page, July 2026.
Atlantic Pho
Two Banh Mi — $18
The long-running Vietnamese room on Atlantic Blvd, in the space old-timers knew as Yan's Atlantic Palace. Pho is $16.95 a bowl now, so pairs fail — but every banh mi on the board is $9.00 flat, putting two at $18.00 ($19.26 with tax). Full disclosure: state inspectors shut it twice in summer 2023 over rodent findings; it passed re-inspection and has run continuously since. Verified on the owner's Clover ordering, July 2026.
Teriyaki Express
Teriyaki Combos for Two — $17.88
One-plate teriyaki counter with a 4.6-star local following. The chicken teriyaki combo — a heap of chicken, mixed vegetables and rice — is $10.59; pair it with the $7.29 veggie-and-tofu combo and two eat for $17.88 ($19.13 with tax). Two chicken combos run $21.18, so one of you takes the tofu — or a $6.99 chicken teriyaki roll. Verified on the owner's own ordering system, July 2026.
China One
Fried Rice + Egg Rolls for Two — $17.80
Takeout-counter Chinese on the Margate side of west Sample Rd, closed Mondays. Two chicken fried rice ($6.95 each) plus two egg rolls ($1.95) is $17.80 — $19.05 with tax. The $9.95 lunch specials (entree, fried rice, egg roll or soda, Tue–Sun to 4:30) are the bigger meal, but a pair is $19.90 pretax and tips past $21 with tax — we count the tax, so stick to the fried-rice build. Owner ordering site, July 2026.
💡 Margate Pro Tip: Almost everything here sits on three roads. State Road 7/441 carries the Caribbean and Latin lane — Bagel Time, Martha Brae, Pearl of the Island, Chifa Taypa, Ricuras Latinas, the Gem, and Annie's and Anne Marie's facing off across the highway, with Spanky's at the south end. Atlantic Blvd holds Toasted Cafe, Atlantic Pho, Teriyaki Express, Jesse's, Birria Bacana and La Granja. The west Sample Rd pocket — La Union, J.R. Pizza Bella, Los Perros del Sobrino, China One, It's All Greek To Me — is legally Margate even where the zip code says Coral Springs. Ace Plaza on Margate Blvd is a two-stop: Sultane and Cafe Sol share the city-owned strip. One more local secret: the hot counter at Broward Meat & Fish (35,000 sq ft in the old Penn Dutch building on 441) is a beloved cheap lunch of oxtail, jerk pork and fried fish — it just publishes no prices anywhere, so we couldn't card it. Go look at the board.
🪦 Before you drive — closures and rebrands the listings missed: Rooster's, Margate's 43-year wing-and-tenderloin institution, closed in February 2024 — delivery apps still list it, and its old website is now a gambling-spam squat. Vee's Caribbean Kitchen's website is dead and its delivery page reads “temporarily closed” — call (754) 308-5968 before chasing the famous $5.99 lunch special. Gordo's Grill on Sample Rd closed in late 2025. East Coffee Crepes became Cafe Sol; Donna's Caribbean is rebranding as Martha Brae. And the old strip-center deli belt — Goldy's, Fill Ya Belly, Lox Haven, Delpresta — is gone, whatever the directories still say.
📍 Regional Chains
Bigger than one storefront, smaller than the home-page national list — regional chains with real Margate addresses. (Golden Krust has a Margate store too, but the franchise publishes no store prices online; the Dutch Pot's nearest outpost is over the North Lauderdale line.)
Firehouse Subs
Two $5 Snackers — $10.75 · Born in Jacksonville 1994
Jacksonville's biggest food export reaches here too: founded in 1994 by two firefighter brothers, now 1,200+ stores — with one store in town at 5516 W. Sample Rd. The $5 Firehouse Snackers (BLT, Cordon Bleu, Sweet & Spicy Ham, Turkey Jalapeño half-subs) feed two for $10.75 all-in, and two small 4-inch Hook & Ladders run $12.78. The 8-inch mediums most people order run $10-plus — the only medium pair that stays near the line is the build-your-own ham or turkey. Priced on the chain's own ordering system at its Jacksonville San Marco store, July 2026 — prices vary by store, so confirm at yours.
La Granja
Half Chicken + Two Sides, Split — $14.20
The South Florida Peruvian rotisserie chain — 50-plus stores — holds down Atlantic Blvd with the best split in town: half a fire-roasted chicken with any two sides for $14.20, $15.19 with tax, and it genuinely feeds two. Two separate quarter-chicken plates run $20.36, so order the half and share. Margate even hosts a second concept from the chain, La Granja Parrilla 441, up on SR-7. Prices read from the chain's own online-ordering storefront, July 2026 — confirm at the counter.
Jet's Pizza
$5 Off Any Specialty Pizza Online — Medium All Meaty $17.87
The Detroit-style original — Sterling Heights, Michigan, 1978, the chain that made the buttery, caramel-crusted square a national thing — has no Margate address yet, but two stores border the city — Coral Springs on W Sample Rd and Pompano Beach. The play is the $5 Off Any Specialty Pizzas deal built into the chain's online ordering menu: a medium All Meaty (pepperoni, ham, Italian sausage, bacon, hamburger) listed at $22.87 on our August 2026 read at the chain's Denver store and rang up $17.87 with the deal applied — under the line with room for tax, and a medium is eight big slices, plenty for two. It's a deals-menu item so it can rotate out — and if it does, texting your order to your store takes 15% off menu-priced pizza. Prices vary by store, so run the math at yours before checkout.
