Fuddruckers was born in San Antonio in 1980 on one idea: beef ground fresh in the store, cooked to order, and finished however you like at a self-serve produce bar. The chain is a fraction of its old size now — a few dozen US stores, many franchisee-run — and that is exactly why there is no single "Fuddruckers price." What holds everywhere is the mechanism: the 1 lb build-your-own burger is a full pound of beef designed to be split, and at most stores splitting one puts two people under $20 before tax.

The honest caveat is the spread. The same plain pound is $13.49 in Norfolk, $14.49 in Lubbock, $18.49 in Albuquerque, $18.99 in Billings — and $25.99 at the upscale DC Chinatown location. So the answer is "yes, at most stores," not "yes, everywhere." Order the pound loaded and the picture shifts again: it stays a two-under-$20 in Texas and Virginia but tips over the line in New Mexico and DC.

The Same Pound, Store by Store

This is the part worth reading before you go. Because Fuddruckers is franchisee-priced, the identical menu item can differ by nearly 2× from one store to the next. Every price below was read off that store's own current source in July 2026 — a dated store menu or, at the Virginia stores, the live online-ordering system — not the shared corporate PDF. Where a store's only posted menu is years old, we say so.

Takeaway: split the pound and you win almost everywhere — though a few stores (Spartanburg) don't even put a 1 lb on the menu — so the pre-trip check that actually matters is your store's online-ordering price, not a number from a directory or a printout.

The Menu PDFs Online Are Mostly Fossils

Fuddruckers doesn't attract the fake-coupon industry the big chains do. Its misinformation problem is subtler and more surprising: its own menus, posted on its own store pages, are frequently years out of date.

Priced but left off — Washington, DC (781 7th St NW): the Chinatown store's own July 2025 menu is the upscale full-service concept, with the 1 lb burger at $25.99 and the cheapest burger $19.99, so two genuinely can't clear $20. Still parked — only Las Vegas (Orleans Casino food court) posts no menu we can read; it's a casino food-court stall with prices behind the counter.
