El Pollo Loco has been grilling citrus-marinated chicken over open flame since the first US stand opened on Alvarado Street in Los Angeles in 1980, and it now runs roughly 480 restaurants across California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Colorado and Texas. It sits in an odd spot for a site like this: the thing it is famous for — a whole fire-grilled chicken with sides — is family-meal food priced accordingly, while the à la carte menu underneath it is genuinely cheap.
That split is the whole answer. Two people ordering chicken quesadillas at $7.99 each land at $15.98, four dollars clear of the line. The cheese quesadilla at $2.49 is the cheapest hot plate on the board and turns a single order into a shared meal for around ten. Move up to the plate and combo tiers, though, and two people are pushing at or past twenty before drinks.

We could not pull a full price list programmatically — El Pollo Loco's locator sits behind a bot wall and its ordering API returns menus only to its own app — so we're not going to publish combo and plate numbers we haven't read ourselves. El Pollo Loco's own site won't show a price until you pick a store, which means the internet is full of confident, unsourced price tables. What to ignore:
Prices are set by market and California runs above the interior states. A single authoritative-looking national table is not something the chain itself publishes, so nobody else can either.
Old promotional pricing being recycled with fresh date stamps. Limited-time combo deals do come and go — but a current price is only whatever your store shows in the app today.
Not a standing deal. Two people landing under twenty here is ordinary à la carte math on quesadillas, not a bundle.
