The building runs two rooms under one roof — Micki's is the casual bar side, 440 the upscale room — and you can order from either menu anywhere in the house, which is the trick: white-tablecloth cooking at bar-side prices. No fixed price point, so scout Thursday's drop before you commit the evening.

Date night for the couple who'd rather laugh: a family-owned 80s/90s time capsule downtown where every menu item is a movie reference. Add the hibachi room's theater if you're celebrating — that's the splurge tier — but the hand rolls alone make the cheapest raw-fish date in Bowling Green.
White Squirrel Brewery
The After-Dinner Stop — Beer Garden in the Shake Rag District
Reborn in 2023 in a 10,000-square-foot warehouse at 302 State St, White Squirrel is the drinks-and-hangout act of the evening: a beer garden, live music, Singo on Wednesdays and a bluegrass brunch on Sundays. Food is food-truck and carryout-based, so eat elsewhere and come for the pint. One GPS warning: the old 871 Broadway Ave listings still rank everywhere — that location closed in 2020. State Street is the one.
Bruster's Real Ice Cream
The Closer — Fresh Scoops Till 11 on Weekends
Every good date-night arc needs a closer, and Bruster's is Bowling Green's: fresh-made ice cream at a walk-up window on Scottsville Road, open until 11 on Fridays and Saturdays. Two scoops run well under $10, WKU students have reported a 10% discount with ID, and the drive home tastes better for it.
