That's fine; the free guac is real. What isn't real is the way most lists cover it. They lump every "free guac" together as if a no-purchase freebie and a $15-minimum reward were the same thing, and they keep listing chains whose deals have already expired. Tocaya

Farmer Boys
$3 off the signature Farmer's Burger (topped with hand-smashed Hass avocado) for VIF Rewards members ordering online or in-app. The only straight discount and the only non-Mexican offer here. Dates are reported as either July 30–Aug 1 or July 31–Aug 1 — confirm in the app.
The single most useful way to read this holiday — the same spine as our coffee and cheesecake posts, where a "free with purchase" is really a discount, not a freebie. Sorted by what the offer actually costs you:
- Possibly free, no purchase: Fuzzy's — if the app confirms the no-purchase claim (unverified).
- Free with a purchase you were making anyway: Chipotle, Barberitos, Pokeworks (and Moe's, now expired).

- Free every day of the year anyway: QDOBA's first guac portion on create-your-own (the "always free" line drops the "first portion" asterisk — extra scoops cost).
- Not a guac offer at all — and the best one here: QDOBA's BOGO entrée.
💡 The under-$20-for-two play: QDOBA. One person pays for a full entrée plus a drink; the second entrée is free. Two people eat for the price of one entrée and one drink — which, depending on your local menu, lands right around or under our $20 line. It's the only offer on the whole list that feeds two on one check, and it barely mentions avocados.
Does Chipotle give free guac on National Avocado Day?
Yes — free chips & guac, two days. What: a free regular side of Chips & Guacamole with a full-priced entrée. When: July 31 and August 1. What's QDOBA's deal, and is it really the best one?
Yes — a free entrée, not free guac. What: buy one entrée + a drink, get a second entrée free. When: July 31–Aug 1 (Gold Status from July 30). Requires: free QDOBA Rewards; reward hits your Wallet on 7/31. Channel: in-restaurant or app. Catch: excludes quesadillas and alcohol, equal-or-lesser value on the free one. It's the day's strongest two-people play.
Did Moe's have an avocado day deal?
Yes — and it already ended. Moe Rewards members got a free side of guac with an entrée, July 28–30, one use. It closed the day before the holiday. Any list still sending you to Moe's for free guac on July 31 is a day late — check the Moe's app for anything current.
Does Fuzzy's give free chips and guac?
Yes. What: free chips and guac. When: July 31. Requires: code AVODAY in the Fuzzy's app. Channel: in-restaurant or to-go. Catch: the widely-repeated "no purchase necessary" is stronger than Fuzzy's own release — verify in-app before counting on a zero-dollar order.
Which offers are app-only, and which are in-store only?
There's no convention — it flips per chain. Chipotle is digital-only (walk in and you get nothing). Barberitos is in-store only (app and online get nothing). QDOBA works either way. Fuzzy's uses an app code good on in-restaurant and to-go. Assume one channel works everywhere and you'll strike out at about half the list.
When is National Avocado Day 2026?
Friday, July 31. The holiday is one day; the deals run July 28–August 2. There's no founder or origin — it's a produce-marketing date, with Avocados From Mexico as the named partner on several of the chain offers.
Three things the rest of the internet is getting wrong about this holiday — which is the whole reason a page like this exists.
1. Moe's ended its avocado-day promo before avocado day
Moe's is the chain most people name right after Chipotle — and its free-guac deal ran July 28–30, closing Thursday night. Drive there Friday for free guac and you've missed it by a day. Some deal pages still describe Moe's in the present tense with no dates attached, which is exactly how readers end up standing at a counter that owes them nothing.
2. The "August 31" QDOBA date error. A network of local-deals sites ran the same QDOBA writeup stating the reward "will be added to each member's account on Aug. 31." QDOBA's own landing page says check your Rewards Wallet on 7/31 — August 31 is a full month after the promotion ends. One version even printed the offer dates as "Friday, August 31 and Saturday, July 1," neither of which is a real date for this deal. Same press release, one bad date, copied verbatim across a dozen city sites — with the correct date one click away on qdoba.com.
3. Fuzzy's "no purchase necessary." At least one outlet flatly states Fuzzy's chips and guac need no purchase. That would make it the best offer of the holiday — and it's a stronger claim than Fuzzy's own press release supports. We're listing it as reported-but-unconfirmed rather than repeating it as fact. If the app shows no minimum, great; don't count on it until it does.
Chains with real avocado-day history that haven't announced for 2026. We'd rather say so than pad the list:
- Potbelly — free hand-sliced avocado on any sandwich or salad, code FREEAVO online/in-app. Verified for 2025, unconfirmed for 2026 — but a stale code costs nothing to try at checkout.
- Sweetgreen — ran a free-avocado promo on August 1 in 2025 (tied to its own birthday). Nothing announced for 2026; an Aug 1 offer would pair with Chipotle's day two.
- Taco Cabana and Bubbakoo's Burritos — free chips & guac / free guac topping for Rewards members in past years. Prediction only.
- El Pollo Loco and Rubio's — both ran avocado-day freebies historically, nothing surfaced for 2026 (and Rubio's closed many locations in 2024, so check that one's still nearby before you go).
Worth knowing, and it costs you nothing: Avocados From Mexico — a produce trade group — is the named partner on QDOBA's offer and Fuzzy's offer, and was behind El Pollo Loco's old "Guac Pass" sweepstakes. National Avocado Day is a marketing campaign restaurants opted into, not a grassroots holiday. Once you notice the same sponsor logo on several separate "independent" chain deals, the whole day reads differently. One honest distinction: Chipotle didn't partner with AFM — it hand-mashes its guac in-store (48 Hass avocados a batch, six ingredients, no preservatives) and sources from both Mexico and California. Which is a nice place to land: the biggest free-guac offer of the day is also the one that's actually about the avocados.
💡 The bottom line for two people: want free guac with a meal you were buying anyway? Chipotle, code AVO2026, two days, digital only. Want two people fed on one check? QDOBA, the BOGO entrée — the real value play, and not really about avocados. Skip the drive to Moe's.
